Map, Taupo region. 1960.
Geological map of Taupo from Napier to Tongariro National Park in the west to Taupo to the north west. The map shows the Kaimanawa, Kaweka, Whakatane and Kaingaroa fault lines. The legend describes the recent and pleistocene, volcanic and sedimentary rocks as well as the tertiary and cretaceous sedimentary rocks of the area. Folded lines, lineation, transmission lines and populated areas are noted. Included is a geological cross section of the region describing fault lines and the type of rock in each area. Cross section supplied by B P, Shell and Todd Petroleum.
