Brief Description
A photograph album entitled: The Agony of Napier, February 1931.

Attached to the front of the album is a note which reads: Some of the experiences of two New Zealand Herald journalists assigned to cover the tragic earthquake that wrecked Napier on the morning of February 3, 1931.

The two journalists were Ced Newell and Leo White. Throughout the album are newspaper cuttings from the New Zealand Herald regarding the earthquake, probably written by Ced Newell.

Leo White, staff photographer, photographed the scenes.

Red plastic covered folder and metal clasps. The black and white photographs are housed in plastic enclosures. Each has a typed label. The folder also contains black paper on which are glued newspaper cuttings.
