Map showing th North Island with Māori place names:
Waipuhi, Otatara, Hei Pipi, Tapu Te Ranga - around the Hawke's Bay County area and Te Tara O Te Marama, Waitahanui, Karangahapi around Taupo Nui A Tia - Lake Taupo.

On the reverse is a list of natural features and settlements with the Māori name, meaning and present day designation:
Ahuriri - A huge funnel shaped fishnet used in tidal rivers, The Ahuriri Lagoon.

Also includes Pā of the 18 and 19 centuries:
Awhitu - Ngati Kahuoka of Tainui - Ancient Pā, Circa 1650 which is East of Whattle Bay.
