Brief Description
The map of the Province of Hawke's Bay was compiled and drawn from official sources by R B Bristed, Surveyor, Napier. The map shows the boundaries of the province, road board district boundaries, survey districts, counties, townships, roads, bridle tracks, crown land, forest reserves, rabbit proof fences, Māori land purchased or leased by Europeans. The area covered is from Mangaatua, Ormondville, Napier, Mahia and Waikaremoana. The names of land owners, such as R S Miller, J Bennett, Nelson brothers and J D Ormond, are written on areas of purchased land.

Scale: Four miles to the inch.
