The documents include letters, copies of letters, memoranda, applications for assistance with repairs to dwellings, reimbursement claims, receipts, approved applications lists of names and amounts, deferred applications lists, grants and a list of names for those with outstanding contract payments.
Included is a mounted newspaper cutting from the Wairoa Star dated 15 February 1932 reporting on the final meeting of the Wairoa Earthquake Relief Committee including the amounts paid out for European and Māori relief. A number of documents bear the signature of F K McNatty, district manager of the Public Trust office in Wairoa. Also included is communication relating to repairs to native dwellings and communication regarding Māori relief.
