Brief Description
Architectural plan and permit, Alexander Estate, post 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
a) An application to the Napier Borough Council for a building permit to erect temporary shops in W & I is submitted by the contractor Lamb and Sargeant on behalf of the owners, the Trustees of J Alexander Estate. The application is dated 30 September 1931. The permit was approved on October 5, 1931. Permit number 632, Plan No E/31/295. The application form lists the conditions of the building regulations for permanent and temporary erections.
b) A two page document showing specifications surrounding the temporary building including the type of materials to be used, painting, electrical fittings and plumbing and drainlaying details.
c) Two plans for a proposed temporary building housing two shops in Dickens Street, Napier. The plan has two pages with the first page showing the plan, front elevation, section, and side elevation. The second plan is of the section and proposed building and has a scale of ten feet to one inch.
d) All documents are contained in an A4 envelope which lists the application details. The envelope is dated 6 October 1931.
