Brief Description
A photograph album made by Russell Duncan containing images that he took during trips following historical events in New Zealand. Underneath each photograph Russell Duncan has written detailed descriptions, the date and records the historical event that occurred on the site depicted.

In October 1901 Russell Duncan followed Captain Cook's trip to Poverty Bay and Cook's Cove, Tolaga Bay. There are also images of the Uawa River in Tolaga Bay and Tupaea's cavern. On 11 November 1901 Russell Duncan tramped up the Ruakituri river bed following the track that the military troops took when they were trying to find Te Kooti 8 August 1868. He visited Mr Mill's house at Tuahu, Ruakituri. He then went on to Morere and Wairoa.

Intermingled are photographs of Mokau Falls and Lake Waikaremoana on January 1899, and the new era grader which was used at Whare o Maraenui, Napier in 9 December 1901.
