Brief Description
The W R Jourdain photograph album contains photographs collected by W R Jourdain in the 1880s and 1890s. William Robert Jourdain is a competitor in many of the images.
The photographs show scenes of Napier and sports events. The sports depicted are rowing, athletics, rugby or football (as it was known in the 1890s), and cycling. Many of the cycling photographs portray the Wanderers' Bicycle Club. Many of the people and events in the photographs are identified and dated. Amongst the photographs are a few newspaper cuttings such as: Football Reminiscences, New Zealand Team of 1884.
The photographs are numbered: 1422 - 1501.
