About this object
Watercolour of Carlton Downs Station at the mouth of the Mohaka River, Hawke's Bay. The painting shows two farmhouses, a barn, small wooden structures (possibly animal shelters), a large cultivated garden, fences, animals grazing, a flag staff, and a sailing boat near the river mouth. Two people can be seen on the sandspit at the mouth of the river, and one person stands under the flag staff.

Undated. The artist may possibly be Alfred John Cooper and the date circa 1860.
