Brief Description
A book and photocopy:
a) Memoranda of Journey 1843 - 1844. Hardcover book with handwritten diary entries in black ink and pencil for the year 1843. Inside the front cover is a pencil sketch profile portrait of The Venerable Chief of the Urewera. On the first page is written: Memoranda of Voyage and Journey to the Southward, October, 1843. The back section of the book is blank, and a pink sheet of blotting paper is inserted between two empty pages.
b) A photocopy of the book, Memoranda of Journey 1843 - 1844.
