Six documents, five of which relate to the career of Edwin Cornford with final relating to Mrs C M Cornford.
a) Certificate of discharge for Trooper Edwin Cornford from the VII New Zealand Contingent after the Boer War. Recipient of medal for Transvaal with bar. Lists his Intended place of Residence as Cameron Road, Napier. Dated 15 September 1902.
b) Certificate stating Edwin Cornford had been elected a member of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa. Dated 10 May 1904.
c) Character reference for Edwin Cornford from General Manager of the Bank of Africa Limited in Cape Town. Dated 28 August 1908.
d) New Zealand Expeditionary Force Certificate of Discharge for Sergeant Edwin Cornford. Lists his unit as New Zealand Expeditionary Force Signalling Company. Dated 19 May 1919.
On the reverse is a typewritten note stating that this is the certificate referred to in Edwin Cornford's affidavit for application for admission as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Wellington in 1952. Signed by Owen Woodhouse.
