Brief Description
Two embroidered postcards sent by Edward to his mother from France in 1917.

On the front of both is embroidery of flowers. The reverse is handwritten in pencil and writes about life during World War I.

a) A postcard with a purple Iris is on the front in a vertical orientation. Edward writes about being out of the trenches for a few days break and receiving mail from his mother and various other people.

b) A postcard with a horn of plenty with a flower bouquet on the front in a horizontal orientation. Edward writes about receiving mail, being away from the trenches and snow.
