Object detail

Brief Description
On the front of the postcard is a black and white image of Hastings Street, circa 1905. There are several horse-drawn carriages, power lines, several men, women and children and many business fronts. Kirkcaldie and Stains is the most visible business. Houses can be seen on Napier Hill behind the stores. On the reverse is printed: The Mammoth Mailing Card, as it was a post card that was roughly 4 or 5 times larger than the standard postcard of the day. There is a pre-printed special note on postage rates for this card.
