Facsimile, Drawing of a flag by Wiremu Colenso.
Two copies. The drawing depicts the Red Ensign, used by civilian British vessels. The United Kingdom Union Flag is in the canton or the upper left corner with a red field. In the middle of the flag is a note pinned by the four corners which records: R.H.Colenso, A loving gift from his Uncle Willie and Aunt Sarah on his leaving home. Penzance. March 29 1888.
Wiremu Colenso drew the flag for Richard Henry Colenso when he began his apprentice as a sailor. The drawing was inserted in front of Norrie's Nautical Tables. These scanned copies are double the size of the original.
