Brief Description
The letters refer to a photograph of a house and a statement by Mr Fannin featured in an issue of the Listener, purported to be the house of William Colenso.

a) Letter to Miss A Woodhouse from A G Bagnall, addressed Mahina Bay, Eastbourne, and dated 28 March 1955.
The contents of the letter include the identification of William Colenso's house from photographs. Howard Hill, Cook, Willy Prentice, and Plowman all mentioned in relation to the identification house in photograph.

b) Letter to Mr Bagnall, addressed c/o Art Gallery, Napier and dated 12 April 1955.
The contents of the letter: Mrs Brewster, occupant of house built by Plowman on site of William Colenso's second cottage, paid a visit. Mr W A Armour is mentioned and information given that Mrs Canning identified the house in the photograph as Marshall's Grammar School.

c) Letter to Miss A Woodhouse from A G Bagnall, addressed Mahina Bay, Eastbourne and dated 12 May 1955.
Contents of the letter: Alexander Turnbull Library identified the house as belonging to William Colenso.
