Brief Description
(a) Nominated Immigrant Bill Book covering part or all of the years 1872, 1873, 1881, 1882, 1883, 1884, 1885, 1886, and 1887. The pages were originally titled nominated immigration bills and promissory notes. The last four pages are headed: Nominated Immigrants. Each page has columns for: number; when received; for whose passage; registered number of application; relations; occupation; age; country; married or single; souls; adults; calling; nominator; residence; amount paid and the date paid. Names used are first and surnames, or occasionally surname and abbreviated first name. Over half the book has been left blank.
(b) 3 loose pages. The first page includes a list of names, New Zealand towns and numbers that has been ticked off. At the bottom there is a note about arrivals on the S S Triumph. The second page is a one sided letter, undated, to the Immigration Office in Napier regarding the nomination of foreigners, from Mr Fox, Acting Immigrant Officer. The third page is a note to Inspector Bullen, Napier from A. M. Muler regarding how long a deposit is good for. While undated it is noted that this letter was replied to on 24 February 1887.
