Brief Description
Loose sheets of paper that primarily consist of two kinds of filled in forms. Both are for recommending that someone be nominated for immigration. Each form is filled out by the nominator for the nominee, and includes nominee's full name, age, address, relation to nominator, occupation, marital status and family. The letters are housed in alphabetical order. They are also signed by the nominator and their address in New Zealand is provided. There are occasional loose sheets of other papers in the files, all are related to the immigrants or the applications. Most of the applications are from the 1870s, though some are undated.
