Imprint at foot He mea ta i te Perehi o nga Mihanere o te Hahi o Ingarani, i Paihia. Declaration of Independence, signed October 28, 1835, by thirty-one chiefs, including Hongi and Pomare, with a footnote of assent signed by Nene and five others who had not attended the meeting. Written in Māori. Printed by William Colenso on the Church Missionary Society Press at Paihia on April 26, 1837. On white wove paper with watermark, " W King, 1829 ".
