Brief Description
Plan drawn by James Sutton, surveyed by Horace Baker and attributed tot he Public Works Department for the Wellington to Napier Railway Line and dated 20 August 1878.

Plan concentrates on the area between Farndon and Paki Paki with the railway running along the Waikahu, Clive, Heretaunga and Te Mata survey districts. Railway line intersects the Rotopounamu, Mangateretere, Heretaunga, Kakirawa and Whenuakura blocks, Karamu Native Reserve and Hastings Township. Railway line runs along Pakowhai Road and intersects the Ngaruroro River at points. Land to be taken is marked in red.

Inset map shows the area from Te Mata to Clive with the railway line clearly marked. Includes distances, survey marks and latitudinal and longitudinal notes. Note includes remarks on the subdivision of land since the survey began.

Plan signed by Walter Johnston, Minister for Public Works, and " S D " on 28 September 1878. Approved by Surveyor General on 31 August 1877. Marked and sent to Wellington on 28 September 1878. Note states that this plan was part of Gazette number 29 on 5 April 1883 and a proclamation dated 2 April 1883.
