Brief Description
Plan by Frederic Carrington of Manu-Kori Pā, Taranaki, dated 1840 to 1846.
The plan shows a birds-eye view, overhead plan and two cross section views of the Pā.
The birds-eye view shows surrounding countryside divided into section and stating that it is a fine agricultural district that is well wooded and watered. Pā sites along the Waiongona River and Waitara River are marked out.
The overhead view shows trenches around Manu-Kori Pā and states that the Pā was abandoned around 1826 with most of the trenches overgrown with fern.
Cross section views show trench positions in relation to river and swamp surrounding the Pā along a north-south and east-west axis.
Horizontal scale is 60 feet to 1 inch and vertical scale is 2 chains to 1 inch.
