NZMS 1971 published topographical map of Dannevirke with handwritten information added by researcher Patrick J Grant showing the route travelled by William Colenso in 1845 from Waitangi to the Mokai Patea range. The trip took nine and a half days, and the date and time have been plotted at various locations.
