Brief Description
Specification for alterations to Williams and Kettle Ltd Wool Store, Port Ahuriri.
Noted are the materials to be used, permits and insurances to be obtained, types and dimensions of stormwater and other drains, manufacturer and consistency of cement to be used as well as specifics regarding the type and grade of shingle and sand, noting that the concrete is to be 6 inches deep.
Also covered in the specification sheets are type of timber to be used, noting that any timber in direct contact with the concrete shall be covered with a layer of Malthoid dampcourse. The specification sheets also note that all new timber is to be purchased from Messrs Holt & son and the wall framing timbers are to be Oregon Pine. The first floor is to consist of Matai clean and the ground floor wall plates are to be Totara.
The WC floor is to be covered with 6 pound lead, turned up at all walls to a height of 6".
The lighting lamps are to be 100 watt gas filled lamps of the Edison screw type.
