Book by Augustus Hamilton entitled: Māori Art, Part 1 - The Art Workmanship of the Māori Race in New Zealand. Printed by Fergusson and Mitchell in 1896.

The contents include an introduction, information about the Māori waka, a plan of the details and construction of a Māori waka, a list of waka terminology, information about the historical waka of the Māori migrations to New Zealand with the names of waka mentioned in Māori traditions and myths. Interspersed throughout the book are plates or photographs of waka with descriptions.
