Brief Description
Memorandum of Association, dated 1899. The memorandum states that the main object of the company is to acquire and take over the Steamship and Lightering business carried on at Napier under the style of Richardson and Company, and to purchase, or otherwise acquire, the steamships Toroa (now being built), Kahu, Fanny, Weka, and Fairy, and the lighters Agnes Martin and Maid of the Mill. The memorandum is endorsed with the signatures of Nathaniel Kettle, Frank Bee and Alfred Henry Miles. It discusses shares, certificates, forfeiture and lien, transfer of shares, transmission of shares, increase in capital etcetera. The word: Draft is written on front cover.
