a) A letter written by William Colenso to Sir William Jackson Hooker, addressed and dated Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand, 14 February 1840.

b) A letter written by William Colenso to Sir William Jackson Hooker, addressed and dated Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand, 1 December 1842. Colenso sent 600 different specimens among which were 30 new ferns from the East Cape district.

c) A letter written by William Colenso to Sir William Jackson Hooker, addressed and dated St John's College, Waimate, New Zealand, 7 March 1844.

d) A letter written by William Colenso to Sir William Jackson Hooker, addressed and dated St John's College, Waimate, New Zealand, 20 May 1844. Colenso sent botany specimens, moa bones, small fish, worms, insects, weka, kororā, and huia.

e) A letter written by William Colenso to Sir William Jackson Hooker, addressed and dated Mission Station, Waitangi near Cape Kidnappers, 19 January 1846.

f) A letter written by William Colenso to Sir William Jackson Hooker, addressed and dated Waitangi, Hawke's Bay, 21 January 1848.
