Brief Description
Map of portion of the Gwavas Estate. The map was printed in association with a public auction held by C B Hoadley and Son Limited on behalf of A S G Carlyon on Wednesday 13 January 1910 at 2 pm. The auction concerns a portion of the Gwavas Estate subdivided into three blocks as follows: Block 1 - 1686 acres; Block 2 - 2119 acres; Block 3 - 4680 acres. It is situated about 6 miles from Hampden and 16 miles from Waipawa Railway Station. The property is bounded by land owned by Messrs Smith Brothers, E N Knapp, E C Clarkson, H Duff, J Matheson, and another part of the Gwavas Estate. The Poporarangi and Mangaonuku Streams act as boundaries as does the Hampden Maraekakaho Road. Locality plan. The map has an 8d stamp on the back with the address F B Walshe, Gwavas Estate, Tikokino.
