About this object
Flying High. Nothing was going to stop 97-year-old Beatrice Heays from attending her granddaughters wedding even though she was unable to make the long journey to Tutira by car. Staff at Gracelands Aged Care Centre in Hastings arranged for Mrs Heays to travel by Lowe Walker helicopter to the wedding, held on the farm where she lived from 1919 until 1991. Mrs Heays is pictured being prepared for takeoff by pilot Paul Wolff.
