Brief Description
Map of subdivision of Read's Estate, Matawhero, Poverty Bay. The map was printed in association with a public auction held at Miller's Auction Mart, Lowe Street, Gisborne, on Saturday 10 April 1915 at 11.30 am. The site is bounded by the Waipaoa River. It is located five and a quarter miles from Gisborne. There is a blacksmith's shop, creamery, Okitu Bacon Factory, Presbyterian Church Reserve and the Matawhero Sale Yards next door to the estate. Running through the estate is the Napier Main Road and the road to Waerenga-a-hika.
