Digging In. Reconstruction of a 2km stretch of stop banks between Awatoto and Clive has begun. The $293,000 contract will see one bank of the Ngaruroro River from the bridge to the Clive River confluence reconstructed and raised in height by a metre. The director of the Hawke's Bay Regional Council's technical services division, Takis Koutsos, said the work was part of the Heretaunga Plain flood control plan.
