Brief Description
Map of Hawke's Bay Land District number 391 - Hangaroa and Patutahi Survey District. Locality plan. Education Reserves for selection on renewable lease. Applications received at District Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, Friday 6 May 1921. First and second class land. The Hangaroa Survey District is situated in the Hangaroa Valley on the St Leger-Gisborne Road and is 33 miles from Wairoa and 40 miles from Gisborne. The land is bounded by the Hangaroa River and land owned or leased by J S MacLaurin, T J Harris, A McIntosh, Winifred B Nelson and W R Graham. The Patutahi Survey District is 23 miles from Gisborne and four and a half miles from Waerengaokuri Post Office. The land is bounded by land owned or leased by Mere Katene Heihi, W E Harris, W MacLaurin and the estate of T J Harris. The map includes names written in pencil. These are possibly the names of the purchasers.
