Brief Description
Map of Hawke's Bay Land District 401 - Motu and Patutahi Survey Districts. The map was prepared in association with a public auction of rural land for selection by Discharged Soldiers and Education Reserve for lease, held 30 November 1922. The Motu site is situated close to Motu Village which is about 52 miles from Gisborne and 3 miles from Motuhora Railway Station. The land is bounded by property owned by Wilson and Wilson, Frederick Adolph Hansen, and Alexander S Caulton, and Motu Domain. The Patutahi site is Education Reserve and located about 23 miles from Gisborne. It is bounded by property owned or leased by W MacLaurin, estate of T J Harris, J Taylor, Native owners and Mere Katene Heihi. Locality map is included.
