About this object
On the Ball. A shiny ball recently placed in the centre of the Veronica Sun Bay may have many people stumped as they gaze at it but that is just what it is for - gazing. Pictured are Russell Spiller and his wife Corrine, who donated the gazing ball to the Napier City Council to replace the original one, which was vandalised many years ago.

Photograph taken on 18 March 1993 and published in newspaper on that date.
