Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Percy R Manson.

a) Letter from Percy R Manson to Mabel. Written while on active service in Egypt and dated 8 November 1918.
The letter reads:
Dear Mabel,
Many thanks for your most welcome letter & parcel which came to hand last week. I am still alive & kicking as Alf says. Keeping in the best of health & hope you are keeping the same. The weather is beginning to get warm again so I don’t suppose it will be long now when we will be getting those nice hot days we use to get last summer. I had three days leave last week & went to Pt Said. It is a very quiet place, nothing to see, only as a bit of a spell off the desert. I see by your letter that Fred is very bust with the shearing. I dare say he will have a good many sheep to shear now. I received Vivie’s P Card. I suppose he was glad he heard that the school was burnt down, as I am afraid school and Vivie don’t agree. I should think it would be a big fire as it is a very large building. I suppose Walter is in camp by now. I bet he will talk a lot about camp life when he returns home on his final leave. It is a year on the 29th of this month since I left NZ. I suppose I will have to wait four years before we will get another 29th Feb. I wonder if I will see one in the army. I hope not. Well May you will have to excuse me for cutting this note short but news here is very scarce. Hoping this will find you in the best of health as it leaves me at present.
I am Your loving brother
Percy R Manson
