Contents include: Obituary of Bruce Gordon Hamlin; Colenso's herbarium at Te Papa, Wellington; Colenso's travels; place names; letters and lists of the missionary period (1839-1853); letters and lists of the later period (1854-1899). The letters give many insights into Colenso's character and life at Waitangi mission station and Napier. Colenso describes a large earthquake on 23 January 1855.
