The newspaper cuttings include Inspector's reports for Wallingford School, 1888 and 1889, the Te Aute Native School for 1890 and 1892 and Waipukurau School for 1896. Other cuttings include articles on a concert at Te Aute, paintings by Miss Harding of Bulls, a concert at Bulls, Waipukurau Public School examination reports, musical examinations, a Waipukurau School Concert, a donation to the Napier Children's Home and the Children's Concert at Waipukurau.
At the back of the book Lydia has written: February 25th 1898. Have been teaching for 15 years, 9 years of which have been under the Hawke's Bay Board; December 9 1923: Had been teaching for 43 years, began 1880; January 27 1930: Have been teaching for 50 years.
