Richmond writes that he is glad Whitmore has found food and shelter at Ahikereru, possible traitors within his own camp, being unable to bring down Māori contingents as reinforcements, developments on the Taranaki front at Patea, that he finds the people of Napier pleasant and that Mrs Whitmore is doing well.
