About this object
Otane birthday celebration turns to tragedy, 5 die in horrific crossing crash - The controlled rail crossing where the fatal accident occurred at Otane, north of Waipawa, yesterday, when the Bay Express passenger train and a car collided. NEW ZEALAND Rail staff were at the scene this morning inspecting the crossing as part of an investigation into the crash.
