Brief Description
Booklet and letters written by William Colenso as follows:

a) A small Votive Souvenir from the Fairies and the Elves of these Sylvan glades. Dannevirke, June 1893. The booklet consists of a two-part letter from William Colenso to Dr de Lisle and a collection of fourteen dried and pressed fern specimens labelled with their botanical names. The first letter, dated 31 May 1893, concerns William Colenso's activities since his last letter to Dr de Lisle. The second letter, dated 3 June 1893, concerns the ferns that he had collected.
