Journal and manuscript related to the New Zealand Expeditionary Force of World War I.
a) Journal entitled: The Waitemata Wobbler - New Zealand Expeditionary Forces XXI Reinforcement. The 21st Reinforcements embarked from Wellington in January 1917. It has a ship's roll at the back with signatures on the back cover and page.
Includes articles, essays, poems, jokes and cartoons about life on the ship. There are ink jottings throughout the journal, some of which are names to identify those in the articles and cartoons.
(b) Found inside the front cover of the journal is a loose sheet entitled: Proclamation. It is a mock royal decree from King Neptune to southerners crossing into northern oceans for the first time.
This journal was originally owned by Hedley George Harvey.
