Brief Description
St Paul's Presbyterian Church Marriage Register dated 19 July 1859 to 5 October 1871.
This register includes numbered entries recording the date and place of marriage, name, age, profession and condition of the married parties. Each entry is signed by the officiating minister, witnesses and the married couple under The Marriage Act of 1854. The officiating ministers are: Peter Barclay, July 1859 to February 1867 and George Morice, March 1867 to October 1871.
Marriages include those of the whaler, William Morris to Elizabeth Paetoi on 13 January 1863, and Alexander Alexander to Charlotte (Harata) Tawhi on 8 June 1863.
