Brief Description
Registration papers for the ship Rio.
1. Transcript of Register for transfer to Napier, 17 August 1885. Owner: Philip Dolbel, Sheep farmer.
2. Letter to register the Rio at the Port of Napier. 17.8.1885.
3. Letter to have the Rio remeasured. 26 August 1895. A new ceiling was built over the old skin reducing the capacity under hatches.
4. Carving note: to be permanently marked on the main beam of the vessel.
5. Certificate of measurements. 3 September 1895.
6. Declaration of Ownership: by Representative of a deceased owner: Richard Dolbel of Springfield, Puketapu, sheepfarmer, born at St Johns in Jersey. William Adam of Kaiwhata, sheep owner; Charles Dolbel of Napier, Coal Merchant and Charles Parsons of Elsthorpe, Patangata, sheep farmer. On behalf of Philip Dolbel who died at Springfield, Puketapu on 29 October 1901. 23 December 1901.
