Brief Description
Book entitled: Halt! Who Goes There? On Guard at Number 1 Prisoner of War Camp, Featherston.

Book is made up of Private Dakin's sketches made during his service at the Featherston camp. Captain A Ashton of the New Zealand Territorial Service wrote the introduction. He explains that these unique images of the prisoner of war camp that held mostly Japanese prisoners should be invaluable at some point. He also hopes that the book will help the guards to heal from their time there.

The author has a three page introduction which touches on some of the memories shared by guards of the camp. This is followed by a cartoon on every page, each one of which has a related, descriptive poem underneath it. These are a progression of the soldier's experiences and daily life from training through to the end of World War II.

The very last page is a reflections page which gives the author's concluding thoughts.
