Registration papers for the ship Mahia.

1. Letter: Sailing pass - Henry Nicol of Auckland built the cutter Mahia for the use of the Provincial Government of Napier. A name has not been given to the cutter. 19 December 1864.
2. Certificate for sailing pass as the vessel does not have a name. 19 December 1864.
3. Letter written by Donald McLean, Superintendent of Hawke's Bay, regarding the purchase of the cutter which he has named Mahia. 12 January 1865.
4. Letter written by Ihaka Wanga re registering the Mahia in his name. 9 May 1865.
5. Certificate showing measurements of the Mahia.
6. Declaration of ownership: Ihaka Wanga, Native Assessor of Te Mahia. Born at Nuhaka. 9 May 1865.
