Book by Annie Butler entitled: Glimpses of Māori Land. Dated 1886.
Annie Butler describes her trip to New Zealand in 1880, her visit to Wellington and Napier where she meet Bishop William William's family, as well as her visit to Hukarere Girls School and Te Aute Boys School. From Napier she travelled to Wairoa, Gisborne, Auckland and the Waikato. Many of the people she visits are from the Anglican Church working as ministers or missionaries.
There are ten illustrations throughout the book, most of which are of Māori and Māori life. One shows Hukarere Girls' School in Napier.
