Brief Description
Commemoration Ribbons.
Six items. South African War.
The ribbons include:
1) Hail to the expansion of the Empire of right. Shows the Union Jack with a picture imposed. At bottom are the words: There is nothing that God has judged good for us that he has not given us the means to accomplish - Burke.
2) Titled:
Relief of Mafeking.
Shows a picture of a soldier / scout - Baden Powell. Then goes on to describe notable events:
Relief of Kimberley - February 15, Cronje captured - February 27, Relief of Ladysmith - February 28.
3) Titled:
Good luck to our contingent's colours. Shows the New Zealand flag. New Zealand - October 1900.
4) Copyrighted. Titled: For Queen and country. Picture of the New Zealand flag in the shape of a shield, with Queen Victoria's picture. At the bottom: New Zealand second contingent, January 1900.
5) Titled:
Success to our contingent. New Zealand, October 1899.
