Brief Description
A Souvenir Programme of Napier's Coronation Celebrations, 26, 27 and 28 June 1902. The programme is also dated 9 August 1902.
Morning functions included: saluting the flag by school children, religious service with procession including tableaux, returned troopers, military, veterans, Māori, school children, bands and trooping the colours under the direction of Major John Chicken. Also details the route for the procession.
Afternoon functions: fancy costume football tournament, military sports and Māori haka under Hohepa Umurangi and Hemi Nuku at Recreation Ground.
Evening functions: huge torchlight procession, Friday evening 27 June - Citizens' Grand Ball; Saturday 28 June - Children's Ball. The Citizen's Grand Ball was cancelled.
The committee was composed of: F W Williams (Mayor), H A Cornford, C H Edwards, J B Fielder, F Logan, R D D Maclean, John McVay, R Puflett, J P Thomson, J E Wilson and Alex E Eagleton.
