Brief Description
The manuscript is titled: Richardson and Company Ltd, Roll of Honour, Port Ahuriri, Napier. World War One. 4 August 1914 to 12 November 1918. Artist S F Whillans, Napier. Dated, 1918.
At the bottom of the list there is a small sketch of the Richardson & Company Limited Head Office at Ahuriri and beside it is a list of the branches which are identified as Wellington, Auckland, Gisborne, Wairoa and Tokomaru. At the bottom is a sketch showing two navy vessels and a submarine on the sea. On the left hand side is a sketch of a naval seaman with: For King and Country written behind. On the right hand side is a sketch of an army officer with: For Freedom and Honour written behind.
The roll of honour lists members of staff on active service and they were:
J Allen, Engineer
W T Nelson, Clerk. He was killed in action in France.
E J Grey, Master
F Clarke, Officer
H G Luke, Engineer
R Hodgkinson, Clerk
L T Reid, Clerk
J H Eddy, Clerk
A C Dalton, Clerk
R Blundell, Engineer
E J Phillips, Accountant
C Colicutt, Officer
W McMillin, Clerk. He was wounded in France.
