Brief Description
A deed of lease for the Arapawanui land block dated 3 September 1894. A map of the area showing the road from Napier to Wairoa is part of the deed. The Moeangiangi and Tongoia (Tangoio) blocks border the area and the Waipatiki Creek acts as a boundary.
The deed is written in Māori and begins: Tenei pukapuka i tuhia i re.... o nga ra o 1894 i waenganui i nga tangata Māori o te takiwa Porowini o Haku Pei....
Some of the names mentioned are Aata Taukuru, Wiromu Henare Taire, Hoani Renata Teema.
