Brief Description
The book titled: New Zealand, its Advantages and Prospects, as a British Colony; with a full account of the land claims, sales of crown lands, Aborigines, etc, was written by Charles Terry in 1842.

The contents of the book include, the history of New Zealand, land claims, sale of Crown lands, information about Māori, the prospects for settlers emigrating to New Zealand and statistics. In the pocket behind the front cover is a map of the North Island from Bream Head to Tauranga and Kawia (sic) Harbour, with insets of Waitemata Harbour, and the first plan of Auckland as surveyed by Felton Mathew. Also included are 12 lithographic views of Auckland, the Thames, Hot Lakes, pā, and portraits of Māori.
