A cardboard folder with attached soldier's pay book issued by New Zealand Military Forces. This card folder has a pocket inside the front cover for holding a pay book to be used on active service.
The booklet attached includes contents such as instructions to soldier, personal information on soldier (Trooper Edwin Cornford) and wages, promotions and their effective dates and pages of lined entries for cash payments on wages drawn. There is a page for a Will which is unused. This book was opened on 5 March 1918. First entry is for 25 April 1918 with the last entry on 17 May 1919.
Inside the back cover is the name of next of kin and contact details. Includes several notes on time in service with official dated stamps. Notes state that Trooper Edwin Cornford was stationed in Egypt at some point during the use of this pay book.
